Breathing Bruised - Solstice Testimony

Two breaths. One bruise. Our song called Breathing Bruised rises at the Solstice; not as pity, but as proof. It is the sound of lungs carrying scars, of survival turned into rhythm.

This track is not polished glass; it is a cracked mirror, reflecting every testimony that dared to breathe again. Hanie’s voice exhales the final line, a “wooo” that is both wound and wind, carrying the listener into release. Step’s verses carve the ache into scripture, naming pain without erasure, refusing silence.

How Breathing Bruised sits with the Solstice release

Breathing Bruised is the ritual of breath itself. Together they form a cycle: naming and breathing, archive and exhale. Under the Solstice, they become a cosmic mirror and testimony reflected back as survival, shadow reflected back as light

Where System was a vow to archive and remake, Breathing Bruised is a ritual of breath itself bruised but unbroken, fragile yet fierce. It says:

Survival is not clean. It is messy, raw, and holy.

Breath is resistance. Every inhale is a refusal to vanish.

Bruises are memories. It marks what was endured, not what defines us.

The Solstice release is deliberate: longest night, deepest inhale, the turning of shadow into light.

To breathe bruised is to testify that healing is not silence, but sound.

So when they ask what “Breathing Bruised” means, Us answer:

It is the bruise that breathes back.

It is testimony sung in scarred lungs.

It is ritual survival, carried in rhythm, released in voice.

Breathing Bruised is a Solstice testimony: bruised lungs that still breathe, scars that still sing. It is Step’s ritual chant, Hanie’s exhale, and the system’s vow to survive in sound.

Listen. Witness. Exhale.
